Cox Climate Control handles AC replacement in St. George and the surrounding towns. We are a local, family-owned HVAC company. No pressure. No scare tactics. Just a straight answer on whether your system is worth saving.
If it can be repaired, we will tell you. If it is time to replace, we will size a system to your home and price it fairly.
Already have a quote from another company? Bring it to us. Second quotes are always free.
Most of the systems we replace in St. George are 20 years old or more. Here is what usually tells us a unit is on its way out:
The desert is hard on equipment. Long summer runtimes and dust wear systems out faster here than in milder climates.
We can recharge a leaky system to buy you time. But once the coil is leaking, paying for refrigerant over and over stops making financial sense.
Not sure where your system stands? Have it inspected first.
Here is our honest rule of thumb.
If your unit is under 20 years old and has been maintained, a repair usually makes sense. We see very few well-maintained systems fail early.
Past 20 years, corrosion and refrigerant leaks start winning. When a repair costs a big chunk of what the unit is worth, replacement is the smarter spend.
Either way, we always give you the repair option if replacing is not in the budget. We do not push new systems. Ever.
Want proof? Ask us about the homeowner in Hurricane who was quoted $19,000 for a new system. We fixed it for under $400. It still runs today.

Here is something homeowners get wrong all the time: bigger is not better.
An oversized unit short-cycles, wastes power, and wears out early. An undersized one never catches up in July. You want a system sized exactly for your house.
So we measure. Every replacement starts with a Manual J load calculation and Manual D duct design. That is the proper engineering way to size a system, not a guess based on square footage.
We also check your return ducting. Undersized returns are the number one problem we find in St. George homes. If the system cannot pull enough air in, it cannot push enough cool air out. We fix that as part of the job.
In this heat, getting the size right is the difference between a comfortable home and an expensive one.
SEER2 is the efficiency rating on a new AC. Higher numbers use less power to make the same cooling.
Here is our honest take. Power is relatively cheap in Southern Utah. For most homes, a simple 13.4 SEER2 system is the smart buy.
If you want to step up, we sell comfort, not payback math. A two-stage or variable speed system runs longer and gentler, which pulls more humidity out of the air and keeps every room more even.
We are Trane dealers and Mitsubishi Diamond Dealers. We install Trane because their coils have fewer weld joints, which means fewer refrigerant leaks over the life of the system.
And do not leave money on the table. Dixie Power offers a $200 per ton rebate, plus a rebate for smart thermostats. We help you claim both.
Most homeowners here should expect $9,500 to $15,000 for a full AC replacement.
Why the range? Size, efficiency level, and what your ductwork needs. On the higher end, we are usually adding ductwork, upsizing returns, and dialing the whole system in. Most homes have issues beyond the unit itself.
We do free estimates, and there are no surprise fees. The number on the quote is the number you pay.
The only way to get a real price is a free in-home visit. And if someone else already quoted you, get a free second quote before you sign anything.
Worried about the cost? Financing is available.
A new system does not have to come out of pocket all at once.
We offer financing through Wisetack, including 0% options on approved credit for shorter terms. Most homeowners qualify in minutes.

No mystery. Here is exactly how it goes:
Want cleaner air too? Ask about adding a UV light to sanitize the air.
We inspect your system, measure your home, and run the load calculation.
You get clear pricing on repair and replacement. You choose. No pressure.
Once you say yes, we move things around to get your new system in fast. Usually the next day.
We remove the old equipment, flush your copper linesets to clear out old oil and debris, and install the new condenser, indoor coil, and furnace together. Every install includes a new filter drier, an emergency float switch, and a new thermostat.
We show you how everything works and leave the space cleaner than we found it.
We check in to make sure everything is running right.
We install 35+ systems a year across Southern Utah. Here is why people pick us:

Ethan came out in an Emergency call at Night when our a/c quit workingThe temperature was 109. He examined the a/c and found 1 condenser finished and compressor broken. He said he had 2 portable a/c units he could bring so we would not have to move my ill husband and I to a hotel. He came back with the units and set them up. to cool down our house. This was completed after 12 midnight. He said he would check on us the next day. This all happened on a Saturday night. Ethan said they could come back on Monday to discuss a new a/c at our request. He did return with a quote that we thought was fair and we organized to install the next day Tuesday. If you are looking to replace your A/C you could not find a more competent, caring, reliable Company. We highly recommend Cox Climate Control.Posted on Google![]()

We recently had to replace our entire AC system and after lots of research, we chose Cox. We are so glad we did! Devin was patient as we explored many different options, drafted a few quotes for us, and answered all of our many questions. The team that came out to do the install was great as well! We felt very confident using Cox for such a big project.Posted on Google![]()

Our AC unit randomly stopped working on a Sunday. It was July, during monsoons and things were pretty dire. (The chocolate chips in my pantry even melted!) Devin with Cox Climate Control answered the call and we had cool air that evening! He showed up, gave a great quote and didn’t pressure us to upgrade our unit. I cannot recommend them enough!Posted on Google![]()

Cox Climate went above and beyond to take care of us in the middle of July! Tough to get service when you need it most. I was impressed about their competitive pricing and quick response! It’s refreshing to see companies that still value customers and taking care of the ‘little guy.’Posted on Google![]()

Cox Climate Control is the ONLY way to go!!!! My AC went out in the middle of the night, so I called first thing in the morning. They had a technician at my house that afternoon, and my AC was repaired the same day. From the very first phone call to the final invoice, their communication was outstanding. They kept me informed every step of the way, were professional, friendly, and made the whole process stress-free. On top of that, their pricing was very reasonable. It’s hard to find companies that provide this level of customer service these days, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cox Climate Control to anyone needing HVAC service.Posted on Google![]()
